Who we are
NGERO is a Kenyan environmental conservation nonprofit dedicated to the Nyanza Gulf of Lake Victoria — its wetlands, waters, wildlife, and the communities whose lives are woven through them.

We strive to promote sustainable natural resource management practices that balance environmental, social, and economic considerations for the long-term well-being of the ecosystem and its inhabitants.

We recognize the importance of collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, NGOs, academia, and the private sector, to achieve our conservation goals.
Education and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and restoration among all stakeholders and fostering environmental stewardship through education and outreach.
Adaptation and Resilience
We acknowledge the impacts of climate change and other environmental stressors on the Nyanza Gulf ecosystem and strive to promote adaptation and resilience-building measures to mitigate these effects.
